Few weeks ago I took my bike to Melbourne to be sent to Tasmania. All went well till we got the bike off the trailer and then I could not find the keys to start it I was so embarrassed that out off all things I had forgotten to bring the keys for the bike. Jim was too nice though, and did not make a big fuss about it. This is Jim and Megan with the bike at Station Pier. I hope Jenni who is going to use the bike enjoys having the bike.

I have had plenty of interest from buyers on eBay and lots of them have asked for photos. So here are are the photos for everyone to see. If anyone needs more photos or has questions, please let me know.

The bike has been sold! Reading the email from the buyer, I am sure the bike has found a good home! It will have its new home in Tasmania.

Yesterday I spend some time cleaning my bike and taking few pictures of the bike to put it up sale on eBay. Hopefully it sells with ease and someone who will use it more that I do will buy it. It will be sad to see it go but I will also get some money back to spend on this camera lens I am looking to buy.

I bought myself a Canon 400d from Taiwan. Thanks to Wan Chi for bargaining a good deal! She kept hassling the sales person for a better price, something I would have been very embarrassed to do myself. Anyway she managed to get me a good deal for the camera with lens, a Lowepro bag and a few lens cleaning bits.

I wish I had got a bigger bag antisipating I would eventually buy at least one other lens and the current bag has no space for another lens. If I had the money I would have also bought myself a tripod with a ball head.

The camera is a Japanese version with “Kiss Digital” instead of “400d” written on it. I think the American version is called “Rebel xTi”. The camera has been good and I have been picture happy ever since. I have uploaded few of the pictures on Flickr (pictures on the sidebar) that where worth posting. Feel free to leave comment on the pictures, so I know what people think of it.

I’ve got a 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO lens on the camera now. Since it is my first lens and I have no experience with others I can not comment on it or compare it, but lately I have been reading a bit about photography and lenses and I would like to get myself a APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG HSM. It costs around AU 1,200$ The constant 2.8 sounds very tempting and is much cheaper than Canon lenses.

To afford the lens I want, I have decided to sell my bike I have to give her a clean and take some good pictures and put her up for sale. As much as I like my bike, I am not using it as often as my camera. So she needs to go to pay for my lens!

Yesterday afternoon I had a message in my voice mail from a National bank staff. I returned her call and I was excited to find out that I had payed off my loan that I had borrowed for my motorcycle! I had in fact made an additional payment, so they are going to credit it to me when I go sign the paper work. I have been trying to put in more money into repaying the loan to finish it off quickly. Now the bike is all MINE!

 This time of the year again when Megan and I go to Canberra for the bike ride! I did not ride my bike to Canberra like the last time. We had the bike on the trailer to and from Canberra. Saw many new faces this time. The ride with the group was great, considering I do not have much experience with ridding in groups.

My bike, as always did not start before the ride. This is not the first time it happened, which resulted in my bike awarded as the “Most Unreliable Bike” I also won a raffle and got “Made in India Bullet” book, which was a nice read. We had bikes from every state except the Western Australia. This picture below is of Raymond and his Bullet Deluxe, he rode it all the away from Alice Springs alone! He plans to ride it back in a few weeks time.

Around two years ago I bought a Royal Enfield. No not the English made one. This one is made in India and exported to few countries including the UK. It has been in production in India for about 50 years and I believe it’s the only motorbike that is under continues production for more than 100 years. Mine is a 500cc four stroke with 5 speed gear box.

Since I live in Australia, there is not many mechanics who wish to work on it. I have to do everything on my own and my mechanical skills are close to non existent. Every time I try and fix something I break something else The bike now is off the road for over a month and I have been procrastinating on fixing it. My excuse is that it is too cold to ride anyway.

Last march I went for a ride from Corowa to Canberra on the bike with two other friends who rode from Alice Springs to Canberra. That was probably my first long ride and I was not sure how I was going to handle. Last thing I wanted to do was spoil someone else’s ride. Although things did not go as smooth as I would have wanted it to be, I enjoyed the trip. Thanks to the other two who rode along with me. We camped overnight at this national park called Geehi. This place had a hut next to the river for visitors. It’s a nice quit place with the river flowing behind the hut surrounded by mountains and lots of Kangaroos.

The next day was a ride from Geehi to Canberra which could have been better. My bike started to miss beats. It would be running fine and suddenly die and start after while. The other two guys thought, may be there was water in the petrol tank and hence no solution to it than to keep riding as far as I could. I am a slow rider and enjoy riding more than take risks. Most of the road after my bike started giving me grief was dirt road. I truly enjoyed this bit of the ride. I would love to do it again someday when the bike is in better shape.

When I returned back home after the trip (Megan and I drove back with the bike on the trailer) I found out that one of the wires to the battery had fallen lose and every time it would disconnect the bike would turn off wish I had found that earlier.
